Summary:
Southern Belle Construction is looking for a In-House Accountant to join our growing team! The Accountant will perform a variety of accounting and financial tasks to support the company's financial and operational objectives.
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, creating and maintaining budgets, working with our CPA for tax prep and supporting the company's growing business needs.
Essential Functions:
Must excel in QuickBooks Construction bookkeeping and knowledge a plus! References required Perform all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations of general ledger accounts, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist with month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and month-end close process with other departments.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly journal entries for fixed asset accounts.
Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
Prepare monthly payroll tax returns.
Prepare monthly sales tax payments for state government agencies.
Other general office duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum of five years experience in accounting or finance required Strong analytical skills; ability to solve problems by developing complex mathematical formulas preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external personnel including management teams, employees and customers at all levels required.
Must be detail oriented and able to work independently as well as in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining effective communication with others including supervisors and coworkers.
Must have reliable transportation Must pass a criminal background check Job Type:
